Freeze Granulators

PowderPro AB provides three models of equipment for freeze granulation, one lab-scale version, LS-2 (see picture below), one for pilot-scale production, LS-6 and a prototype for a production granulator, PS-10.

In connection to a purchase of granulation equipment, PowderPro AB provides help in concepts for slip preparation/formulation and how to operate the equipment in order to achieve high yield and high-quality granules.

See our Services for test-granulation and start-up at site (one day) and go to Technology for more information.

Production Granulator (PS-10)

The Production granulator has the capacity of 10 liters/hour.

The protopype for the Production Granulator, PS-10, has a proprietary spraying chamber with continuous liquid nitrogen flow and is additionally equipped with an apparatus frame, a circulation pump for liquid nitrogen, a device for continuous removal of frozen granulate and regulation of the N2-liquid level.

Pilot-scale Granulator (LS-6)

The Pilot-scale production granulator has the capacity of 6 liters/hour.

The pilot-scale granulator, LS-6, consists of a slip container with a stirrer, a pump for the slip, a spray nozzle, a regulator for compressed air and an insulated chamber for spraying and granule collection.

Key Benefits

  • 6 liters slip/h or 12-24 kg powder/day
  • homogeneous granules
  • no contamination
  • no migration of binders or small particles
  • no void formation
  • no formation of dried shell
  • easy to use and easy to clean
  • low waste of material (high yield).

Lab-scale Granulator (LS-2)

The lab-scale granulator has a capacity of about 2 liters/hour.

LS-2 (see picture below) consists of a slip container with a stirrer, a pump for the slip, a spray nozzle, a regulator for compressed air and an insulated chamber for spraying and granule collection.

Key Benefits

  • Homogenous granules with
  • no contamination
  • no migration of binders or small particles
  • no void formation
  • no formation of dried shell
  • easy to use and easy to clean
  • low waste of material (high yield)
  • for example, granulate 10 small batches of different compositions in 4h (one afternoon), including cleaning time
  • granulate 2-5 kg/day in your lab with
  • same granule size as from a large granulator or spray-drier.
